Sprachigo — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Sprachigo ("the App", "we", "us") is a vocabulary and language-learning app for German, English, Turkish, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. You can use the App fully without creating an account — your progress then stays only on your device. If you choose to sign in, this policy also explains what account data we collect and how it's used.

Data stored on your device

Your learning progress, review schedule, streaks, and app settings (native language, target languages, levels, reminder time) are stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage (SQLite and local preferences). If you don't create an account, none of this is uploaded anywhere — it stays only on your device until you uninstall the App. If you sign in, see "Account & cloud sync" below for what changes.

Account & cloud sync (optional)

The App lets you optionally create an account to back up your progress and sync it across your devices. You can sign in with email and password, Google, or Sign in with Apple. Creating an account is never required to use the App.

If you sign in, we use Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) to store:

This data is transmitted and stored securely (encrypted in transit) and is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising. You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the App. Signing out does not delete your cloud data — it stays available for you to sign back into.

See Google's privacy policy for how Firebase handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

Advertising

The App shows ads served by Google AdMob to keep it free. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers (such as your device's advertising ID), IP address, and general usage data to serve and measure ads, and — where you have not restricted it — to personalize them.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the App shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) the first time you open it, letting you choose whether ads may use your data for personalization. You can change this choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices inside the App.

See Google's own privacy policy for how it handles this data: policies.google.com/privacy, and its ad-specific policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Crash and error reporting

The App may use Sentry to automatically report crashes and errors so we can fix bugs. A crash report can include device model, OS version, app version, and a technical stack trace of where the crash happened. It does not include your name, since the App never collects that. It may include your email address if you are signed in (reports from a signed-in session can be linked to the account that triggered them to help us investigate and reply).

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, the App schedules a local notification directly on your device using the OS's own notification system. This never involves sending your data anywhere.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad personalization is automatically disabled for users the App or AdMob identifies as under the applicable age of consent.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
